Everything about Mountain Dew Amp totally explained

Mountain Dew AMP (or simply AMP) is an energy drink produced and distributed by PepsiCo under the Mountain Dew soft drink brand. It was launched in 2001 to compete with Red Bull. The beverage is available in 8.3 oz, 16 fl.oz. (TallBoy) and 24 fl.oz. (Big Rig) cans and made with Mountain Dew's base flavor formula. It also contains MDX5, taurine, ginseng, B-vitamins, guarana and maltodextrin. A new flavor, Mountain Dew AMP Overdrive, was released in February 2007. Overdrive's flavor is Cherry. In October 2007, Sugar-Free Amp was released. Mountain Dew began to release Amp in a new can in January 2008. 16 fluid ounces of AMP contains 143 milligrams of caffeine.
Most of AMP's advertising is created by the ad agency TracyLocke -- a Dallas, TX based firm that handles all of PepsiCo's marketing and in-store promotions.
On September 19, 2007, it was announced that AMP would split sponsorship with the National Guard on Dale Earnhardt, Jr.'s #88 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet Impala, which will run starting the 2008 NASCAR Sprint Cup season. AMP sponsored part-time driver Kevin Lepage for a few races in 2006, including the Daytona 500, where Lepage finished 25th.
AMP recently became sponsor of the UAW Ford 500 at Talladega, which means that the name of that race changes for the first time in four years, when the EA Sports 500 was renamed UAW-Ford 500.
AMP was the main sponsor of the 2008 NHL Winter Classic, an outdoor hockey game played between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres on January 1, 2008 at Ralph Wilson Stadium in Buffalo, New York. They were a major sponsor for the Super Bowl XLII, in Glendale, Arizona.
There is also a new alcoholic shot like the Jagerbomb that uses AMP energy drink. It is called the Burnout #88. The name is in tribute to AMP's new sponsorship with Dale Earnhardt Jr. The shot consists of a combination of Bacardi 151 and AMP energy drink.
According to Pepsi officals in Chicago, Amp will expand in 2008, The three new varieties are: Amp Traction (Grape), Amp Elevate (Mixed Berry) and Amp Relaunch (Orange Citrus). These new flavours are due to be released sometime this spring.
